prickly pear cactus

small_town36 Jun 05, 2006 01:11 PM

i was reading a while ago that these catus are good for the beardies to eat so me and a buddy of mine picked a couple up. I put one in the tank with my male and he was jumping on it and seemed to like it. nevertheless today when i looked at his stomach there was a few bristles in it. they dont seem to bother him whatsoever. I was wondering if this is normal and they will com out with movement, because in the wild they must be able to come in contact with these plants, or if i should take the prickly pear out???

I also feed prickly pear. But I scrape the outter surface of it off in water before feeding. I know those prickles hurt like hell when they get under my skin, don't know if it hurts the BD or not.
