Mine do the same thing. I think it is from how much heat, what type of heat, how its directed ect. The flood light will have a wider area of heat vs. the household bulb which is a narrow area. The beardies try to absorb the heat from the narrow bulb and I would think some do not get the same amount of heat as others even though the temps are the same. But one thing is certain in mine, it didn't cause any difference in the long run. My babies from last year changed all the time and some were very dark from one cage and others from the other cage were fairly light so I switched the lighting weekly. They all came out nicely colored as adults. I was using a flood on one and a reptile heat bulb on the other. Now this year all my bulbs are Household bulbs so we will see the end results in about 6-10 more months. Send me some pictures and post them here. I'd love to see the difference between the ones I have of yours and the ones you have. And also see the color difference in the ones you speak of. Deb
