Th glades are laying

snakesunlimited1 Jun 06, 2006 04:16 PM

Well the last week of my personal life has sucked (rear ended, summon to court over BS, slow snake hunting trip, poison ivy, big cell phone bill, and I am pretty sure I am getting screwed on a snake deal) but my everglades did their best to chear me up with nice clutches of eggs from both the het and hypo females. I just thought it was kind of funny that with all the crap going on in my life that a bunch of eggs can make me so happy.

I hope that all of you are having a good year with you snakes.

How come you don't list your AZ Green Tree Python as part of the zoo?

viborero Jun 07, 2006 05:53 PM

Mark,

I WISH I had a Green Rat! You must have me confused with someone else on the AHA. I assure you though that if I ever get to herpin' down south, and if I'm even lucky enough to find one, it will top the list.

Sure enough. I just checked that post and it was Herp Force (Javier). You need to come down here then and try your luck! Worse case scenario is still a good time in the hills.

viborero Jun 08, 2006 12:10 PM

I might just take you up on that later this summer. Check your PM's on the AHA.

Jason,
I am thoroughly convinced that herps are therapeutic. They have positive, smoothe energy, and as you said--can make a crappy day better with some eggs. If I've had a rough day, the first place I go when I get home is into the herp room. There's just something about snake energy that grounds you in the reality that life is actually good.
Kind rgds,
althea

I really like looking for snakes in the wild for my therepy. But it is really nice to have a bad week topped off with a bunch of eggs for the weekend just in time to save it for you.

Another great feeling is when you change a cage aroung and then watch the snake explore all the new smells. The only problem with this is I end up doing 2-3 cages and then sit there watching the snakes for a hour or two.

I just don't see how anyone could hate snakes if they give them a chance.

"The only problem with this is I end up doing 2-3 cages and then sit there watching the snakes for a hour or two."

I hear you. LOL. But isn't that why we all got into snakes in the first place?

I know my girl HATES tuesdays. That is my feeding/cleaning/rearranging/general playing around with snakes day. I only come out of the snake room to wash their bowls out and the occasional beer. It's the only day out of the week that I look forward to, though!
