new ally pics, help to maybe?

so i finally got some new pics for you all. just took them today 6/6/06!!!! haha. anyways, i got a few with the base of its tail. any ideas if its male or female? my ally it 6.5 yrs old. 16 inch shell length. enjoy, and thanks

my guess is male,but he's probably still too young to sex accurately even though he's 16",which seems like alot size for a 6 yr. old. do you keep him active during the winter or does he brunate? very nicely colored snapper anyway.

he has been mostly active yr round. due to some heating probs this last winter though he slowed down quite a bit. hardly ate anything. lost a little weight. water was in the low 60s. since getting a new heater made for that amount of water at the beginning of may hes been chowing down on a diet of mainly trount and pan fish. water now is about 78. yeah, i always heard that allys grew slow. he grew 4 inches a yr for the first 3 yrs and then has slowed. so only like 4 inches over these last 3 yrs. heres a pic of him at 3 yrs old.
