Gecko will not open oe eye

tfletche Jun 07, 2006 07:24 AM

I have two healthy full grown female leos . About seven days ago one began to shed as she often does. Usually its rapid but this time she stoped pulling off the skin around her tail and feet. We were able to remove the rest for her. We noticed she is not opening one eye . Its kinda puffy but we have seen no discharge. She been drinking but has only ate one meal worm which I feed to her by hand.We have seen her pass waste however.
She stays in one place and acts lathargic. My wife has tried some repiti wash drops we got at the pet store but they seem to make no differance. She has a large tail but I am concerned how long she can go and not eat. They are on carpet with ceramic tile and we use moss in the hide wich is kept moist. This was her favorite place but now she rarely goes in now . Any suggestions?

you need to take her to the vet she probaly has a peice of shed in her eye causing it to get infected. you need to do this right away becaue it can get worse, transfer to the brain, ears, the other eye, and it can cause brain damage and blindness. the vet will probably give you some drops or something, the sooner you go the cheaper it will be befor it gets worse!! that is also why she is not eating, probably. the longer they are off food the harder it is to get them to start back on a healthy schedule.
