V. jobiensis incubation and info

VaraNY Jun 07, 2006 11:56 AM

I cannot seem to find any reputable information on incubation temperatures and humidity for V. jobiensis eggs, and info on how to begin breeding them. Anyone have information about these?

I would think the incubation would be the same as any other varanid. I get eggs without doing anything to cycle them, just the whole heat um and feed um aproach. I have yet to get the nesting down though so I haven't had good eggs yet. Hopefully the nesting I have now will work out as she should cycle again soon.

Cheers,
Steve

Oh thx alot. I was wondering if Hovabators would work? And about your nesting problem, is it due to the usbtrate?

No, I don't think the substrate is the problem. I use oak leaf litter which should be ok, more the problem is keeping it maintained. I wouldn't use a hovabator, way too small. Do you keep jobiensis, or are you just looking to get into them?

Steve

I have a 24" female, and I am looking for a sub-adult male. I'm also building a large arboreal cage for her starting this weekend which I am very excited about. I believe Jobiensis lays bewteen 3-10 eggs.
