i bought a species of what i thnk is pillow moss and i rehydrated it and planted it in my vivarium. how long do u think it will take to speard? i just got a glass lid and the humidity is creeping up to 90- 100%

They don't spread very rapidly at all, if it is the type I believe you may have, if you rehydrated it. Since March, those I purchased simply called "frog moss" are alive, but haven't spread a bit yet. I wish I knew more about the mosses--I have a moss book I got from Black Jungle at the Arizona Frog Day this year called MOSS GARDENING by George Schenk. While it doesn't contain specific information about suitable mosses for terrariums, being mostly about outdoor garden and bonsai mosses, liverworts and lichens, and is really not a source for specific identification, it's a lot of fun to read.
You could try to crumble one of the dry pieces of this and spread it around between the pillows to see what happens.

are there any other faster spreading mosses? i live in the south east and the weather is normaly hot and humid could i collect my own moss?
