Thank you all so much for your help - I have been feeding him endive with his other veggies and gave him a tiny bit of olive oil mixed with water...he wasnt happy about it, but he got some of it into him. He also got a nice warm bath. He is active and still eating, but his mushy lump is still there, so we will see what the vet says saturday...
One other thing - I read on www.deerfernfarms.com that pet store sand is a no-go, and thats what he has right now. Can I mix it with playground sand to make it better, or should I just bite the bullet and change all of it?
Any other recommendations would be great, you are all a huge help to someone who is new at this. I am going to try and get some pictures of him up once I figure out my camera so everyone can see how cute he is. His name is Fugs and he is about 13 inches long and really, really fat. He also has some white patches on his front leg and head, not sure what those are but the scales are perfect and I think they give him character.
Thank you thank you!!

I wouldn't mix the calci-sand and play sand.Just remove all the calci-sand and replace it with the play-sand make sure the bag says washed and screened play-sand.You can also run it through a fine screen yourself to make sure there are no big peices and it also help's cut down on the dust.He may have pin-worms or parasites, but as I'm not a vet this is just a guess of what he could have.He could have something more serious so it's good you are taking him to the vet as it sounds like he really needs to see one to get better.Good luck and let us know how he turn's out after the vet appt.

I will pick up some play sand this weekend.
And actually, I gave him the olive oil and water last nite, and it didnt work right away, but when I came home from work today there was a suprise poop in there of impressive size. The lump is getting less noticable, so hopefull its passing. We will see what the vet says!
(Pics comming soon )
Thanks again,
Leah

Good but still take him to vet as someone else on another forum just had this exact problem with pooping and the lump and it was a bunch of pin-worms,which the vet is treating with Panacur.I'm not saying that's what he has,so it's important you take him to vet.Let us know what the vet says.
