seems like some of the crazy imports this year look alot like a ball blood mut... and I few I have seen look ALOT like some of yours. I am not saying they are yours... but what I am saying is I hope the people that are importing these realize they could be hybrids. I think they are awsome and hope to someday create some as well. Very nice.

goregrind Jun 09, 2006 05:29 AM

bloods are from asia so unles someones been putting bloods in africa it would have to be angalan blood mixed into the genepool

that you were saying Angolan X Blood. You meant Angolan X Ball right? Anyway though, I don't think their ranges overlap either, do they?

ginebig Jun 09, 2006 08:11 AM

LOL, they don't, but you'd still be more likely to find ball/angolan crosses than ball/blood in the wild

Dr. Frankenstein’s creations! Yes it is possible…but not in the wild.

Awesome snakes. Nice Job. Wish more people liked them.

crazydart Jun 09, 2006 11:28 PM

I ment that people in africa might be breeding bloods to balls and exporting them as new ball morphs. Like as in a scam... not a natural thing.

ginebig Jun 09, 2006 11:43 PM

No offense, but that's a little extreme don't you think?

Quig

avdnco Jun 10, 2006 12:31 AM

I think extremnely "unlikely" is a better phrase.
Even if they could import/smuggle the animals from Asia, it does not seem like an easy breeding to accomplish. MHO

Have you seen/heard the extents africans will go to for a scam or making money? I dont think it would be all that hard. I am not trying to discredit those who have worked to produce ball blood hybrids, but you have to admit, someone with access to unlimited balls could import a bunch of bloods to try to make it happen.

Maybe the question is WHY NOT? If your yearly income was $5k and you had the chance to make that by exporting 1 snake, wouldnt you try? I would.

All I am saying is its something to keep in mind when looking at the new import morphs. I could swear some of them look like blood ball crosses. I wont say who has them, but they have not ever been posted here, so if this is the only forum you look at you have no clue whats really out there.

I guess that hurts the arguement that hybrids aren't fertile just a little bit.

Those are pretty sweet! Congrats!

tailswithscales Jun 09, 2006 01:33 PM

What are the sexes?
Are the babies sterile?
What are their temperaments like as adults/babies?
Do you sell them, if so how much?

Thank you

FYI- F2 means second generation. These were superball X superball. So they obviously are not sterile.
Hope this is helpful.

I know this is stupid, but just to be clear for me (a beginner), are these blood python/ ball python crosses? How's the temperment? I've always liked the look of the bloods, but didn't like the reputation of their touchy temperments. I'd just about kill for that dark one with a ball python's good temperment...
Beautiful babies!

they really aren't any meaner than other snakes, just more vocal. Some are actually very sweet. Also, some balls can be nippy too. I personally think this is rare but others will tell you the exact opposite. Just stay away from WC and you should be fine.

EmberBall Jun 10, 2006 12:05 AM

Hybrids really are not my thing. Why call it a Super Ball, when it isn't? Nothing really Super too me about Hybrids, and to call it a Ball...when it is only part Ball, could confuse alot of people. It reminds me of the Sunset Boa, at least I think that was the name, marketed as a new Boa morph only to be discovered a Columbian x Hogg Island. Anyways, it always seems to me the people who make Hybrids view it as an accomplishment, I see it as far from.

iamsnakeshack Jun 10, 2006 12:51 PM

If they breed and they have viable, fertile offspring, they are (by definition) the same species (just a different race). Right!?!
