snake OK??

Gilles Jun 08, 2006 10:28 PM

My 4 1/2 year old wandering garter snake that I have had since basically birth came out of brumation this spring and every since she started to eat again seems to have smellier than usual defacations. She hasn't been eating as much and been more picky. She used to eat mice no problem in past years but would only take them this year if I skinned them first! Anyways, it has been about 3 weeks since she last ate (not interested lately) and today we found some orangy jelly-like defacation (?) in a number of locations around her terrarium. Anyone have any idea what this is about, should I be concerned?

Some of it is rather unshaped, but most of it (maybe 3/4) is about smaller jelly bean sized and semi hard.

Are these unfertilized eggs?

What is initial breeding age of wandering garters?

I already knew it was female.

Other than being a picky eater (and perhaps smellier poops) she doesn't seem unhealthy.
