A Good Litter!

wetceal Jun 09, 2006 12:25 AM

We had a nice litter of boas born today! The sire was a male Albino Arabesque and the dam was a female double het. Snow from Frank Martin. We suspected the male Albino Arabesque was het. for Anery but there were no Anerys or Snows in the litter. So...either he's not a het. or we just didn't hit the odds. We'll try again next year though.

The female was a first time mom and she did a very good job. The final count was 20 nice, BIG babies and 2 slugs. No still borns or deformed babies! The average weight of the babies was right around 75 grams! Of the 20 babies, there are 3 Albino Arabesques, 5 Arabesques, 3 Albinos, and 9 100% Het. Albinos. AND, everyone is at least 50% possible het. for Anery!

One of the Albino Arabesques has a really nice, clean pattern while several of them have gorgeous coloration. I also really dig the patterns on several of the regular Arabesques too!

Anyways, just wanted to share some photos. Also, congrats to everyone else who've been having good litters recently!!

Thanks for looking,
Celia

Very nice Celia. I like the pale Albino Arabesque on the bottom of that first pic. I was really hoping to see a Arabesque Snow, maybe next year.

Congrats,

the Arabesques, the Albino Arabesques, and the Albinos.

Not to mention, once again, great photography. Probably the reason I always look at your posts! Great pictures no matter the subject, .
