what can i do to fatten up my beardie?? ive been working alot and ive only been feeding him about once every 2 days greens, and maybe twice a week crickets and hes gotten really skinny. what can i do to fatten him back up besides feed him more?

If you don't have time to feed your dragon properly, you should find someone who does. Why don't you want to feed him more? That's the only way he will put on weight in a healthy way. The poor thing is probably starving.......

Yeah....that extra 5 minutes to scoop up some crickets and chop some greens is really time consuming, isn't it? I agree....find someone who can take better care of the dragon. There's just no excuse for it to be malnourished because you "don't have time" to feed it.

thanx, but i asked if there was anything i could give him like as vitamins or somethin to bring up his apetite so hell eat more and get fat again. i didnt ask for you to harass me. if you dont have anything to say thats useful or will help, just keep your mouth shut.

Another way for you to fatten up your beardie would be to give it away to some one with more time. You obviously are not getting any enjoyment out of caring for that poor beardie. I find that feeding them and watching how big a healthy beardie will grow if cared for properly the most enjoyable thing about owning beardies. Find another person to care for it and you will know in your heart you did the best thing for him. Dragons if young should be eating a wide variety of insects and greens daily. Juvinile dragons should be fed tree times a day once in the morning being salad, and two feeding of crickets a day. I have some that eat 80 crickets a day. I doubt you are cleaning his cage or providing the proper lighting, or dusting his food with calcium because the easiest thing to do for it you are not doing, Feeding it!! It's so easy to order 1000 crickets for 9 bucks from www.reptilefood.com and throwing in dusted food before work and when you get home. Your working all those hours you must have the money to feed the poor dragon. I don't know how you could ask a question like this. Do you know how stupid it is. think about it. How do people gain weight? Did you really think there was any other way!?!?!

you do need to feed him more often and at least make sure he has greens every single day in his cage. You can try feeding him green giants or tomato hornworms 2 times a week, these are good for getting weight on dragons, you can order then from several sources online even www.lllreptile has cultures of them, you need only feed one worm each time (full grown worm). this does not take the place of regular feedings but along with regular feedings will help get the weight back on the fellow, you can also try things like butterworms www.herpfood.com they are very high in calcium and are higher in fat then most feeders also, you can feed these as treats every other day.

I THOUGHT YOU PPL ARE HERE TO HELP, NOT TO HARASS SOMEBODY WHEN THEY HAVE A PROBLEM. JUST SO YOU KNOW, HIS CAGE IS CLEAN AND HE HAS FRESH WATER, AND HE DOES HAVE THE RIGHT LIGHTING. HE HAS FRESH GREENS IN THERE EVERYDAY, THEY LASST IN THERE FOR LIKE 1 1/2 DAYS, AND HE EITHER EATS THEM OR THEY DRY UP THEN I PUT NEW ONES IN, AND THE CRICKETS, THE PERSON AT PETLAND RAISES HER OWN AT HOME, AND SHE SAID THEY ONLY NEED CRICKETS ABOUT ONCE EVERY 3 DAYS ANYWAY, THERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE MORE GREENS THEN CRIX. YALL OLD PPL DONT GOT NUTHIN BETTER TO DO THEN SIT AT HOME ON YOUR FAT ASS ON THE COMP AND HARASS PPL AND PLAY WIT YOUR LIZARDS. SOME PPL HAVE TO WORK, CUZ EVERYBODY AINT RICH LIKE YOU.
