like i posted a couple days ago, i am going away for 1 week (in a week and a half) and i don't know what to do with my baby leos until then. most of my friends live a good while away so they can't gecko-sit for me, and i can't take them with me either. has anyone ever figured out a way to leave baby geckos for a week's time??? i have racked my brain for options but i can't seem to figure anything out except that i'll start feeding them heavily a week before and then just leave a dish of 20 mealies in the tank and hope they fair well.

As long as they have a decent fat store they can survive for much longer than one week without food. If you have to do this though, you will want to seperate them. Young geckos have a tendancy to look at tails as a food source when nothing else is available.

Hi Cleo, I had to go away this past week and leave my geckos, one of which is only a month old. What I did was I left a shallow cup of water in there for humidity in case it was to shed, I put a clear food bowl in there for him to see, but made sure it was low enough for him to get into but not let the mealies out of, and just loaded that up with mealworms for a week, and sprayed the cage with water including saturating the heck out of the humid hide. I also have him on paper towels, so i just loaded the the cage up with a few extra layers in case he decided to go potty elsewhere in the cage. When I came back he was still alive and well, and pretty much all his mealies were gone. I wouldn't worry too much about them as long as you got them off to a good appetite start before you head off.
