Bad egg stuck to good ones

snakize1978 Jun 09, 2006 05:06 PM

I have a clutch of 7 ball python eggs all stuck together. they have been incubating for about 2 weeks and one of them looks really bad. I knew from the start that it wasn't any good but I didn't want to hurt any of the eggs trying to seperate it. Now it's turning green and funky, how do i get it out of the cluster of eggs? There are at least 3 eggs stuck to it.
Thanks,
ShaunC.

I had always heard that a bad egg will not affect a good egg but until recently had never tested that theory. We had a clutch of eight with one bad egg stuck in the center. It went bad a couple weeks into incubation just like yours. It dented in, turned yellowish and then began to mold. It was completely convered in green mold after a couple weeks. The mold did not spread to the other eggs and all seven hatched recently in day 58. I would leave the eggs and hope for the best. The egg pictured was attached to the moldy egg and as you can see it is perfect.
