speckled

Anybody have an idea of the approximate locality? I picked a pair up at a show last weekend. Other than their sex and that they're captive bred I have no info on them. Bad pic, he's really pretty in person. The female is even nicer but is in shed presently.

Looks a little like a Mini diamond python. The speckles are alot more yellow in person.

What show did you pick them up @? I got 1 from Isis reptiles. You don't see holbrooki much out here (west coast). They've got kind of a busy pale pattern. Nice. Both adults?

I got them at the Hamburg, Pa. show. It seems like maybe they are gaining some popularity. I say that 'cause at the last couple of shows it seems like there were more hatchlings available then I can remember in the past. These have got to be 2005's. The male is quite a bit larger than the female. She just started to cloud up, but here she is. She has a busier pattern and the speckles are brighter yellow, although you can't tell that by this picture.

Doesn't look like east Texas or Louisiana... my guess is far west in their range... the male looks to almost have a little floridana influence? Just a hunch. Nice snakes!

Don, it would almost be impossible to pinpoint an exact locality with having the info, but I think I might can narrow it way down for you.

As soon as I saw the pics I immediately said in my mind, "Hey, those look identical to west Mississippi locale!" I have seen and collected a few from Sharkey and Yazoo counties in the MS Delta. They have very prominent crossbands that never fade away, and the speckled pattern is very distinct and recognizable. I'd be willing to say those are MS locale. They are definitely east of the mighty MS River.
