Eastern Kingsnakes

Drekkel Jun 09, 2006 08:12 PM

I live on Hatteras island in North Carolina during the summers, and in burlington(about an hours drive from Raleigh) during the school year, but today i caught my second eastern Kingsnake and it seems near the same area i found the first one, and it seems to me that they are not very aggressive, neither snake tried to bite me when i picked it up and seemed contempt to just stay wrapped around my hand,as i said these are the only two i've ever caught(though i did see one my brother killed back inland, needless to say i was angry) are they in general very calm snakes? I have'nt caught enough to really know, all i have are two beautiful and gentle specimens.
P.S. they were both released unharmed, and more understood by my curious neighbors, in the same locations they were found.

Absolutely Yes! Kings are among the most tame of NA snakes, even when wild caught. Maybe because they are so self confident.

Excelent!
Now go get a CB Eastern and rear it up to a six footer!

Cheers!
