andyuk Jun 10, 2006 04:49 PM

Hi i know turtles and fish are not the greatest mix in the world but has anyone got any angel fish. I have guppies in there at the moment and my res and map trys to get one now and again but with no luck as fish too quick. The turtles are fairly yong only around a year old so is it ok to try it or will my turts have a new lunch soon as i put them in?

Nope they don't try and eat them my hatchling went up to it as soon as I got the fishies and it darted away. It also pecked him on the leg. For some reason he has not tried to eat them. I think he likes the reptomin way to much lol. However RES are a little bit more agressive towards food then painteds I have found.

i've heard of one lady that had her pet angel fish and decided to add a turtle to the mix and CHOMP there went the face of the angel fish!!

it depends on the turtle, really...

I would NOT mix fish with turtles if you LIKE the fish. All fish are food.
Angles are way to docile to put in with turtles I think.

Our local fish/turtle guru keep Oscars with his RES (they were all the same size and temperment) and after a while the RES were trying to eat the fish so they had to be seperated.

My Rule of Thumb is if you dont want your fish to get eaten, DONT put them with turtles.
