Hondos: Updated Pics & Breeding Results

mgl Jun 10, 2006 04:51 PM

A decent year so far with egg production and growth rates. Just sharing some pics.

Pictured: Extreme ghost pairing (hopefully), ghost het albino head shot, hypo het anery from an extreme hypo

I'm hoping to pop out a few extreme ghost this year. I have 2 females both from extremes (1 100% het, 1 50% het anery).

Ghost het albino male may produce a triple homozygous hondo this year for me, fingers crossed!!!!

I've posted these aberrants before but can never really capture how aberrant they are. They come form Norm Damm's established line, although the aberrancy is highly variable.

I've also posted the hybino 66% het anery before too. She is eating like a pig. The 2nd pic is her mother, which should give some nice snows het hypos this year. She is 100% het anery and was bred to a ghost het albino. Also pictured is the snow het hypo I hatched out last year. She was the lone surviving egg and is also eating like a pig. Big plans for these gals!

the hybino...sorry for the error

I like this adult tangerine albino het anery's coloration. He has held the white very nicely in his adulthood. He fathered the adult snow I posted a few months back and has been incorporated in a different bloodline of snows this year.

Also pictured is a tricolor poss. hybino. These aren't usually posted because they aren't as desirable to the tangerine hybinos. I like how the red tipping is seen within the triads.

Last but now least, I'm hoping to produce a triple homozygous hondo from this girl. She has all the potential and if odds are right, I'll be lucky.

Great line up of hondos and great bunch of cool genetics for lots of projects.

If you got your tri-color possible hybino from Terry Dunham I might have a sibling. Here's a pic of an 04 female albino that is possible hybino and possible het anery. That red tipping doesn't go away as they get older. I like it too.

Hey Gents,

I've got a 05 Male Amel from a Triple Het to Triple Het breeding. Something tells me that this guy is a Hybino (on right)...his "yellow" color is really different. You can really see the difference between him and the opposing Amel female Het. Anery (on left). He has developed more red tipping with age...it is hard to see the tipping in this photo, but it's all I've got to post right now.

I think the tri-color Hybinos are awesome! If either of you guys (Rob or MGL) produce a female Tri-color Hybino...I'll take her off your hands!

I may produce a few this year but wouldn't you want a hypo to test breed your theory since a hybino would give you all amel offspring? Great comparison pic and good luck...they are killer animals.
