i would let the night run it's normal time, and my tamatave just shed today, i tried to help him but he didnt like that, i had to ask myself, who helps them in the jungle?
I would leave the lights off until you wake him up tomorrow. If the sheded skin does not come off this week, the humidity or temperature just isn't right which can cause dysecdysis.

I would up the humidity a bit by misting a little more than usual. I do this with my panther when she sheds, regardless of how fast it goes.
Also, as chameleons get older it can take more than just one day to fully complete a shed. Give him another day or so. He should sleep fine even though he isn't finished yet.
If you find that after a few days he is still having problems, dispite extra mistings, then you can get some mineral oil and help him out. Just put a bit on a cotton swab and gently rub the trouble spots. Make sure it all comes off of the tail, and feet. They can be tricky sometimes.
