CONGRATS guys

Kingofspades Jun 11, 2006 09:43 AM

I just wanted to post my pure admiration for all the new "creations" this year.
Super Mochas
more crystals
paradox crystals
spider pieds

you name it.
You guys are my heros!

I also have a question...
has anyone crossed Axanthics with anything?
Axanthic mojaves? Pastels? Yellow bellies?

It seems like no one is crossing them with much anymore.

NERD produced the first Pastel Axanthic a few years ago, and it is a STUNNING animal.

I'm not sure if there are pics of it on their web page, but I've seen it in person several times, and it is gorgeous

I've been wondering has anyone produced it yet and if so does anyone have any pics?

I am such a big fan of the axanthics. I can't wait to see what they can do with other snakes. So far I have pastel het axanthic, dh lavender-albino axanthic, dh pied axanthic, dh woma axanthic--at some point I hope to produce some nice things with them, but on their own they are one of my favorites. Tracy you are working on some killer crosses! I can't wait to see some of those babies. Axanthic crosses have been underrated and I think way over due. VPI Axanthics are the nicest looking and the only line I will work with. Thanks, Jon

You said "dh woma axanthic"

Isn't Woma a co-dom trait?

Heterozygous means having an unmatched pair of whatever gene you are talking about. The woma type is a het for the woma gene because it has one woma and one normal version of the gene at the woma location. Het does not mean normal looking gene carrier, it just works out that way with recessive mutations. With dominant types the hets are visible.

axanthic--sorry about that confusion!
