HELP!!!!!!

richardyingling Jun 12, 2006 05:53 AM

2 of my large females were in having a little trouble shedding so I soaked them a few days back and everything went fine. I looked at them today and their stomachs are all pink and kind of rotten looking. I have no idea what it is. I'm trying to get off work to take them to the reptile vet and hour and half away. I saw a snake recently on here I think that had the same looking stomach but way worse and there were pics of the recovery but I have no idea what it was or if it's the same thing. If anybody could help, I would really appreciate it. I'm freaking out right now. Sorry, but please, if you have any ideas let me know. Thanks

could be start of scale rot or mild burns from a heat source. Check your python's cage and make sure the bedding isn't too damp and that the heat source isn't becoming too hot.

Yeah, I did ALOT of browsing on the net and found out that's what it probably was. Also had a little help from e-mailing Ralph Any suggestions on getting it to heal besides lowering the heat (bedding is fine). Should I use any antibiotic ointment or anything?
