WC ball pythons!?

pythonjunkie Aug 01, 2003 12:33 AM

Im looking to get a sub adult - adult female ball to breed hopefully this winter. It seems to be impossible to find CB females at that age for sale! I have heard that WC balls are a little cheaper...Would this be a GOOD idea or should I just by a baby CB ball and wait it out 2 years. Also...If I decide to go WC...who is a good dealer or a good website where I should Look! Thank you for your comments!

IMHO you would be better off buying a CB and raising it yourself. Adult female WC are hard to get started and on top of that are hard to breed. Thanks

If you think about it, how many times have you heard of a WC that isn't eating or is stressed or isn't easily handled? While you might have to wait another year to get a CB female up to the size you want (for a price that you're willing to pay) I think the benefits far outweigh the inconvenience. WC just seem to be more troublesome from what I have heard. Just my opinion though, and all snakes are definitely individuals so you could luck out.

Hi. You might want to consider why you want to breed BP's. If it's for profit, bp's may not be the snake for you. Normals (at least where I am from) only go for about $15 each because the market is flooded with hatchlings.
If you still want to breed, I wouldn't suggest a wildcaught. There can be a lot of problems involved including parasites, health concerns, aggression, and not feeding. Plus you will be further depleting the wild source of bps that is already threatened by the import/food/skin trade. Even though I don't live in Africa, I would still want these beautiful snakes to be present in the wild.
I hope this was helpful to you, and the best of luck in your project.

What happened to the female you were going to breed to your borrowed albino male. Your name was pythonmikey420 right? Clay

Whats up? Do I know you?...anyways...My female that I have is a 100% Het Albino female...Im going to breed her this winter with a male Albino from a guy I do business with here in Nashville. He has one at his shop. I am going to take my female there this winter and he is going to breed them. he has all the equipment and the high end animal. We are going to split the offspring 50/50. I am wanting a NORMAL female to breed with my Bullseye/Ringer BP....Just a fun dinking around project...just to see if I get more ringers! Get back with me!

I just have a few questions. On July 22 you post a pic of your ringer and said it was the ONLY morph you had and you paid only 80.00 shipped. On July 19th you posted a pic of your stud a male het albino looking for the right female. At the same time you had the same pic posted on ****bid for auction of male het and another auction for adult female het albino. Maybe she was not the right one. On june 16th before you changed your name from pythonmikey420 you said you had a pair of 100% albino hets that were less than a year old. My females usually don't make it from 700g to adult in a month. And last but not least On june 16 you also said that you were going to breed your ringer to your mojave in a couple years. So I guess all your females don't grow that fast either. Just thought everybody might want to watch this guy. If I am wrong i am sorry but to me it sounds a little shady. It you want proof search forums and you will see his posts. Clay

I don't know much about you but I do know that you have told so many lies on this forum that you can't even keep up with them. You might SELL alot of snakes but are they what you say they are. If you have/sell so many ball pythons why do you need loaner snakes. Why chage your namwe? Feel free to answer any of the questions in the first post and let everybody else decide. Clay
