My new '05 female variable kingsnake just turned back from blue on Friday but has still not shed. I thought I'd give her some time but today it looked as if the skin was really stuck to her and wrinkled in some places so she's soaking right now. Her last shed was fine, it came off in a few pieces but still all in one night so I didn't worry. I'm starting to worry now though.
Currently, the heat lamp (75 watts for a 29 gallon) in her cage lets the ground below it to get to the high 70's and low 80's, but I'm not sure if it's enough. If not, any suggestions on a better (and also the most cost-efficient, my dad is a freak about saving money) heating source I'd be glad to hear it. I'd love to use a thermostat but it's not really possible because of the way our heating is set up. Could the humidity be the issue? Any advice would be great, thanks.
