Help . . . I was digging up potatoes in my garden and turned up a nest of skink eggs (an adult great plains skink shot up out of the dirt just before I saw the eggs, so I am assuming a little).
I carefully moved them into a plastic container with a lid using the same soil they were in already (lots of peat moss and compost with a little sand).
Now, I've kept adult skinks for several years with no problems but I have no idea what conditions to keep the eggs under. How warm should they be? Do I need to keep the soil moist? How long will they take to hatch?
I think some of them were probably turned before I noticed the nest . . . will that kill the embryos like in turtle eggs?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
