Some of this year's Sunglows!!!

Amanda_Burke Jun 12, 2006 09:15 PM

It seems like I never have a chance to check the forum these days but now that everybody is having all these amazing litters, I have to be sure to make time so I don't miss anything!! lol Gotta love baby season!

Here are some pictures of a couple of sunglows that were born here a few weeks ago. Every time I clean their cages, I put a "MINE" tag on another one but for some crazy reason, my dad seems to think that we can't keep them all.

Anyway, here's one that will be staying right here if I can help it! lol

Here's one that hasn't shed yet but looks like it will have great contrast...the tail blotches are solid red.

I like the contrast and pinched saddles on this one...

The flash washed it out, but this one has a nice pink wash over him/her.

I can't wait to see what these babies will look like after they've eaten and shed some more times!

Oh, btw, pardon the "Burke Reptiles" across the pictures. Recently, it's come to our attention that people have been running scams using our pictures in ads presenting them as animals they are selling, when in fact they are just pictures they have found on the web. So, unfortunately, we have to do this now.

Take care,

Amanda. I really love that top one too. Those pinks coming through make a beautiful effect. It's too bad about your pictures being scammed. It seems we have to watch our backs every minute anymore. I've seen more and more people putting their names on pics like that to keep them from being used. The lettering is such a distraction from the beauty of the animal. Perhaps there is a way to make the letters less bright or something. Those babies deserve the spotlight!!!

scams have become the unfortunate by-product of using the internet for so much in this hobby...makes us miss the old days when we used to have to snail mail 35mm pictures back and forth! lol

...again. I have a feeling your dad is going to tell you to move out and take all those "mine" boas with you, lol. Wouldn't be a bad way to start your own extension of Burke Reptiles!

Congrats on yet another great Sunglow litter. Any Blood or Leopard related litters this year?

think my dad has had about enough of my post-its! lol

Oh, and thanks for the info about the pictures...I hate the way the writing looks across them and it really makes it hard to appreciate the snakes, so I will have to look into those.

I remember Jeff Ronne using something on some of his stuff that prevented you from copying the URL or the picture. I am not sure how he did it. It would keep people from using your pictures, but allow you to show off the babies (and all your boas) without the distraction of the text.

OR, try using Adobe Photo-Deluxe editor. You can insert an image or text, and make it appear as a water-mark on the picture. It takes the appearance of a reccessed/embossed part of the photo, without altering the color. Kind of setting a part of the image back. You could do this with the text, so that it wouldn't take so much away from the photograph.

What a shame these things need to be done.
