Egg-laying chamber

xelda Aug 01, 2003 01:19 AM

I've got two humid hides. One with paper towels and another with peat moss. They're both the same size as butter containers, not the really small ones, but the next size up.

Is this an ok size for the female to go in and lay her eggs? Would it be comfortable for her?

And do you guys normally cut a hole on the top or at the side of the containers? (I'm trying both to see which works.)

Both will work. i prefer the hole in the side, holds humidity a little longer without the heat escaping thru the top

Both would work, but I think the one with peat moss in it would work better for laying eggs in. If you use the peat moss one, I'd cut the hole in the top, when they lay they kick dirt EVERYWHERE and it makes a real mess if the hole is on the side. Good luck,
Mac
