midge, lucia's sister, has blister disease. i know midge was given baytril injections last week, i just don't know if it was in the muscle or under the skin or maybe it seeped out of the muscle.

i basically told the vet that i went through this two-three months ago and here is dr stahl's number and this is what we did before, it worked so i would like to do it with midge also and hopefully prevent the large blisters like lucia got on her stomach. i was nice about it but she knew i wasn't fooling around and they are ordering fortaz for me and calling dr stahl for lucia's file

the blisters are in her back leg armpits just like lucia

perhaps ivan and griffin have shot a whole in my theory of baytril injections because i think they have it too. they were given injections though several weeks ago but they have had no contact with midge save my hands but i use a virus/bacteria killer on my hands.

i am going to go take a long walk off a short pier

Hang in there and don't take any trips off any piers 'cause your lizards really need you right now!

Just remember--you're not alone, kiddo.

I'm sorry to hear this Vonnie. It seems to never end, but will. Don't take that walk off the pier just yet

Are these lizards all together? Have they been together within the period that Lucia FIRST got the diease? Sounds as if this is contagious to me. I do not think the injections are the cause, Now. Vets inject many lizards and they do not get blister diease.

I would make sure they are all apart from any other WELL lizards. I would keep some sort of disinfectant toweletts near their enclosures and after touching one tank or one lizard I would wash my hands. Wash anything that comes into contact with any of the sick/infected ones. (Why take chances)

This is just my opinion, but thats what I'm thinking. Isolate everyone for awhile.

Sorry to hear about your lizards. Can you describe blister desease? I don't think I've seen it but I'd like to know about it. It sounds like it can spread. Good luck with your animals and keep us posted.

i don't have anyway to upload pictures of midge but i do have some pictures of lucia from a couple months ago

this is how it started out in both girls, in their back leg arm pits and lucia got a little spot on her stomach but midge does not have one yet so hopefully the medicine will spare her stomach

this is lucia's stomach while it was healing, you can see how big the blisters got, pretty much becoming one blister across her stomach.

i don't think ivan and griffin have it. they definitely have lacerations on their skin but griffin's bump isn't "watery and thin" like the blister disease and ivan's are flat and just red. also midge's spread like wild fire over the night and their's had no change. they are at the vet. pretty soon i may just move in there.
