A friend of mine is going to open his pool for the summer tomorrow and it is a gray tree frog haven, there are gray tree frogs every few feet in there so before he puts all the chemicals in there I want to relocate as many gray tree frogs as I can I’m going to do that tonight but there are also a bunch of gray tree frog eggs in there, I want to keep a gray tree frog for a pet but I know it's not really a good idea to house wild caught tree frogs because they tend to stress out(though I’m tempted to house one of these guys in an empty 30gallon tank I have laying around
)
so I’m going to scoop out some eggs and try to raise some gray tree frogs but I'm pretty clueless as to how to do this, I looked around online for some care sheets but I can't find anything
For now I am going to go over there right now and carefully scoop up a cluster of eggs into a small plastic container and take it home but I’m not sure what to do with it after that
How should the water be kept? Do I need heater or anything?
What do I do to make sure that they hatch? Once they do hatch what do I feed them?
Also how long does it take for them to hatch?
I also have a fully established fresh water fish tank so I was thinking I can use some of that water to house these guys in since I know it's nice and clean
I probley wont use a filter and just change the water every(day? week?) if they turn into frogs I’m going to keep them in a big fully planted tank that I’m in the process of setting up
As you can see I’m pretty clueless and I need alot of help
Anyone have any care sheets or info on raising tadpoles and caring for gray tree frogs?
Thanks
-Matt
