WPEC (West Palm Beach, Florida) 11 June 06 Anaconda on the Loose (Eric Roby)
A trapper is expected to be back out at a pond to try and catch a large anaconda on the loose in West Boca Raton.
A professional animal trapper says he's seen the snake in a pond at Addison Reserve Apartments.
Several large ducks are missing from the area and feared to have been killed by the snake.
The baby anaconda can grow up to 25 feet long.
There are conflicting reports how big the snake is that's on the loose.
It could be between 6 to 12 feet long.
Experts at the Palm Beach Zoo say it's likely the snake was a pet and then released into the wild.
Once the anaconda is captured, it will be taken to a local animal preserve.
Finding the snake can be difficult since anacondas primarily stay in the water and usually only come out at night.
