100% het albino breeding

zeroto4legs Jun 14, 2006 08:20 AM

im looking to get a pair of 100% het albino ball pythongs and i know that out of evry 4 1 should be albino 2 should be 100 het (normal looking) and one a normal. but that dont always work out.

but my question is in bredding, like after they hatch when they get older can i breed them to there mother/father/sister/brothers.
or wiull that cause a lot of problems down the line.

also does anyone breed 100 het and get albinos always when breeding them

thanks for the help

even with 100% hets theres the chance to get all normals. just like flipping heads 100 times in a row.

no ones ever given me a straight answer on inbreeding... although what ive gathered is breeding a snake back to its mother or father is not uncommon, esspecially in "line breeding". however, at the well respected breeders they usually make a point out of not selling "littermate" (brother and sister) pairs. i wish someone would give a detailed answer about inbreeding.

Here's a link to Wikipedia's entry on inbreeding depression. Hope it helps.
