Question: are blacklights....

bigguykev36 Aug 01, 2003 05:20 AM

Are Blacklights allright to use to illuminate a gecko's tank? or would this be bad for the lizard? She's on paper towel, so I thought the white comming off of the towel might be too harsh for her.... maybe when she's on something darker... but would the light itself effect her vision, sleeping habbits, apetite, or overall personality and way of life? What about affecting her coloring? The light would only be used at night to make her visible in a darkened room... Lemme know. Thanks!

i use black lights for mine because they are cheaper than the reptile blacklights and they do the same thing. i have never had a problem using them. ive had gecks for 3 years with the blacklights and they all eat and function just fine.
