Heya, Quick Question, Is it OK to have Tomatoe Plants planted in the tort pen? I will not be using it much because this pen is for the baby Leos so I would be out watching them when they are out but I know the leaves are toxic to some animals, I just can't remember if they are to Torts. Also in the pen is cilatro, sage, and peppers planted( banana peppers-hot). If these are not good I will not put them in this pen(it has always been my garden anyway). Thanks, Mishi Blackwolf

I found several references to tomato (and potato) leaves and stems being toxic.

Go figure thats what my russian goes for first when I have him outside, not the hunderds of flowers in my backyard. But he has been fine since he ate it so I don't think its deadly.

Tomato plants are toxic enough that the leaves can be used as a weak insecticide. Probably wont kill your torts if they are big enough, but could do some renal damage at minimum. I had some plants in my pen on trellises. I just kept the plants out of eating range with no problems.
