I now have three hatchlings, one egg with a mose out, two more dimpled eggs, and 5 still good looking eggs at day 62. Can't wait till they start eating, although the first little guy did eat 4 tiny crickets, and is eating the finely chopped greens I give them in the morning.
The third little guy is a riot, though - EXTREMELY feisty! He hissed at me immediately, and bit me when I moved him to the hatchling bin. When I was scooping up unwanted crickets after a feeding try tonight, he hissed and leaped at my hand when it came close to him. I'm kinda sorry I scare him so much, but it's funny the other two aren't that way.
What my husband thinks is funny is that this is my 3rd generation beardie breeding line that is being breed only for great temperments. Both grandparent beardies and parent beardies have never even threatened to bite, and are marvelous pets, so I've always told him I'm breeding for pet temperment rather than color. He said, "Yeah, good thing you're breeding for temperment" as he watched the little guy threaten me with tiny open mouth when I sprayed them with water.
Anyone else have straight-from-the-egg attitude beardies? LOL!
