Fuzzy Eggs

shipleyb Jun 15, 2006 06:14 AM

One of my BP eggs looks to be getting a little moldy. Should I be concerned? Is there anything I can do?

thanks

keep an eye on the egg,it may be ok,but i doubt it.if it gets worse remove it from the clutch but only if you can without hurting the eggs its attached to.if it cant be removed give it some time to rot more and then do it.

I just had a clutch of eggs that went really moldy pretty early into incubation. I checked them one last time before hatching to make sure they were all dead, and the mold wiped clean off of one egg that was still good. I slit the egg, and the baby was fine and came out healthy. Good eggs should be alright, even if neighboring eggs are dead and moldy.
There was a recent thread on methylene blue and addition to incubation medium or spraying on moldy eggs to reduce mold. See if you can find that post and read it. Good luck,
