I posted a similar question about retics in that forum but I'd like to know about burms as well. I've read a zillion different things and never read the same thing twice so i'd like to hear from some people that have raised a burm from the egg on up.

*in the first year with feeding appropriate sized prey every 5-10 days, how big will a male burm be?
*same question for female

*in the 2nd year with feeding appropriate sized prey every 7-12 days, how big will a male burm be?
*female?

*say at year 10, with regular appropriate feeding, how big will a male be
*female?

I've not had the blessing of being able to raise much from the egg on up. (except a RTB and a corn- RTB not from egg... that would be wierd) The majority of what i have experience with are already grown animals with much slower growth rates. I have a "9 year old" (not sure if thats accurate) that I got from someone. Its a boy and hes a little over 11 ft. I dont personally think thats big enough, especially since hes grown over a foot since we got him around a year ago as skin and bones (you could see each rib). That's the smallest burm/retic i've ever gotten, mostly they're around 16 ft and up, so i'd like to know what others have to say (that have raised them themselves- not what they read out of a book) I've read that they can be 6 foot in a year i've read that they can be 10 ft in a year. i've read that they're 15-20 ft in 2 years.... if all that is true, my little 11 footer has some more growing to do....
thank you
Beth

I have two burms, one male and one female. They are both two years old and they are both about 11 feet. The female was off feed for several months because I bred her this year. She has more girth then the male. They both shed every thirty days from hatchlings up to 10 feet and about 14 months old. Since then the growing and shedding has slowed down. Hope this helps.

thank you, that did help. when we got this burm, he was very skinny and eating MICE OR SMALL RATS! he was around 10 ft. then. we fed him a rabbit and then the next feeding upped it to 2 small rabbits. now, several months later, he's on 3 large rabbits about 7 lbs each and hes growing like a weed and filling out nicely. the guy we got him from said he was around 9 years old, now hes probably around 10, and only 11 feet..... seems tiny considering they 'can get' 6 ft. in one year.... guess we'll keep tossing rabbits in. thanks
