swimming uros!!! (mali)

HerpGirl Aug 01, 2003 08:37 AM

yesterday i was filling our tub up with water to give zephyr(my iguana) his usual swim. well if any of you have seen igs swim you will know how gracefully they put there legs bag and sway their whole body and tail to swim. well, after i dried zephyr off and put him under a nice heat lamp, i was going to let artemis(my female mali) swim too. i never did this before... she usually just gets soaked in a small container thing. i almost fell over laffing! her fat round body and her short little legs... she just flailed her legs around to swim but she didnt try to get out she just swam around! and her body floats so she didnt go under water. i just found it funny after seeing this graceful ig sliding thru the water then seeing artemis flapping her legs around to move. hehe..gotta luv 'em!
just thought i would share. p.s. this isnt a regular occurance, she only gets soaked about once a month.

Yeah, my uros freak out when they get in... they use their tails like motors and zoom across the tub. It would be a scary experience for the uros, because water isn't around too much in the desert.

she actually doesnt freak out anymore. id say the first 2 times she did but she just swims to my hand whenever she wants. its kinda funny the way they float tho. has anyone else noticed that there stomachs puff out? its almost like they fill up with the water... its kinda weird but my ig does it too.
