What did I find???

Misskiwi67 Jun 15, 2006 11:29 PM

Hey all... I found this little bugger sunning himself in the road today, and I was curious if anybody knows what it is... and if its native to western south dakota. I've lived here and caught all kinds of little critters my entire life and I've never seen anything like it before... any help is appreciated!

Looks like a Pale Milk Snake to me. You have 2 species of Milk Snake in South Dakota. The Red Milk and the Pale Milk.

So I'm thinking pale milk snake. The colors match the red milk snake better from the photos I've found, but I'm on the wrong side of the Missouri for that...

The first pic cinches it. It's a Pale Milk.
