depending on what you want to use it on
for cage heat control id use this
Electronic BAH-1000 Thermostat from bigappleherp.com
and for making an incubator id use the Helix thermostat, they sell it on lllreptile.com

If you want a proportional thermostat I would defenetly recomend Helix but Herpstat also makes a nice unit.
Other than that both Johnston and Ranco make great units that are easy to use as well as find via the web. I purchase mine from MGReptiles.
I also use rheostats or household dimmers for a lot of my heat control. I check my cages nearly everyday so a little work on my part is not a big deal. You can get a 600watt dimmer at your hardware store for a little over $5.
