Gut Flora

Hi,

The vet has been having Dottie take Albon every day for
10 days. I've read where this medication can cause
a disruption in gut flora. I notice that her "stools"
are not formed so I'm wondering if I need to be worried
about this.

I'm going to be calling the vet today, but in the meantime,
just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this.

I have something (probiotic) I gave one of my rabbits for this, something I got at petsmart after researching it. I know this company also makes something for reptiles (I'll followup with the name of the product later). I've also heard where reptiles have been treated for this with the healthy feces of another of the same species. I'm hoping something over the counter might work.

Thanks for any info!

I 've used the probiotic for reptiles and it worked well. Hope all goes well with this one.
