I found this guy in a tree yesterday, but I'm not familiar with colubrids. Is this a black rat?

That is a fairly typical Kentucky "Cowsucker" from the pictures I have seen of other Kentucky specimens. Cowsucker is the local nickname for the Black Ratsnake.

Yep black rat snake, I have a Bullitt county black rat that is close to 6.5'.
