friends or foes

I've always had snapping turtles, and any time i tried to keep them with a yellow bellied slider the snapper would drown the slider, i currently have a yellow bellied slider(Reggie) and a common snapper (Jerry) in a ten gallon, i know what you're thinking, but i have a divider though Reggie learned to climb it and in doing so i guess taught Jerry how to climb it, at first i would come home and Reggie would be on Jerry's side, but a few days ago i came home and Jerry was on Reggie's side, so far there have been no conflicts, i'm planning on putting them both in a converted kiddie pool tomorrow, i think natural sunlight is the best way to go, at least for the summer, and there will be plenty of shade and cover for Jerry, if they're in this bigger enviroment will they be able to keep on being friends or will Jerry see Reggie as food?

thanks in advance for any info given.

I would say it's in the best interest of the turtles that you separate them for good. Why not keep the yellow belly in the kiddy pool and the snapping turtle in the 10 gallon?
