Easy to see possible nigra influence here. As she's put on some weight (she was real thin when I got her) that kingsnake "shine" has started to come around. She was almost floppy weak when I got her. Now she becomes adhered to your hand as she has gained a bit of muscle mass. All kings are awesome animals, but I just really like the strength of the eastern races.

Do you have a locale for this animal? It looks like a classic Eastern, much like the ones I've seen and found in South Carolina. Good luck with it.

Picked her up at a show with no info available. I don't even know if she's wild caught or captive bred.

What do you see that makes you think nigra?
I don't see anything but eastern - slightly abberent at that.
Note the interrupted crossbands - I've don't recall ever seeing that on a WC. However, that trait does crop up with CB/B.
Still, a crisp jet black and nice bright markings - a good "Lighting Pattern" thundersnake!
