LdyPayne, the dragon is clear of Yelllow Fungus that was in the

Picture on the post below. It took several weeks of treatment, the larger part healed fast, there was a lesion near his one leg and that took several weeks, but it has dried up and fallen off with nice pink skin under it.

This was not my dragon, but one that the owner came to the yahoo list group with. We have hundreds of pictures of dragons with this in various stages and looks...... but almost all are responding to the treatments and clear.

I think in the last 3 months of maybe the 50 we know of, 40 are clear now, 2 did not survive and the remainder are all improved and on the way to being healed. Thats just the ones from the list contacts, there are also many Vets working with bearded dragons that had or have it and staying in contact with us. And all of those dragons, but 2 had been on some antibiotics, (Albon is also an antibiotic) 2 months to 6 months before the yellow showed up.

Please, everyone use probiotics when medicating a bearded dragons, we know that there is something in them that keeps the yeast in balance in their digestive tract that is also dying off with the coccidia, other parasites or infections. Once that is removed, unless their system replaces it fast or owners add probiotics to replace it, they can develop this disease that will be fatal if not treated. One thing that we all notice improve right away is the dragons eating.

I recommend Acidophiliz by Pet Authority found in PetSmart, if your dragon has been treated at anytime with antibiotics, its never to late to use it.

Cheri,
Where do you get probiotics?
Thanks,
Karen

I recommend Acidophiliz (its made for reptiles) by Pet Authority found in PetSmart, if your dragon has been treated at anytime with antibiotics, its never to late to use it.

It is also excellent for ill dragons or dragons that have slowed down eating or have tummy problems/loose stools or diahrria. OF course have a fecal and make sure the animal is free of parasites and worms. But sometimes they get tummy aches or bloat from their dinner and it works fast to relieve them. ITs like the pepto-bistmol for bearded dragons.

Many people have not be able to find it locally, if you can not, email me, I will send it to you, all we ask is that people when they can afford it donate to our site. I use that to offset the cost of the things we send all over the world to people for their dragons... I think the farthest we have shipped products too is Malaysia.... took 3 weeks!!!

Cheri, your just amazing! What can I say. I'll check the pet
stores first to see if I can get some. I gave three of mine Acidophillus. I opened the capsule, put the liquid in the syringe and they all got about .2 cc. Is that too much, not enough? How often should I give it to them? Well, to make it short was it OK to do that or not? Please let me know.
Take care,
Karen

Thanks for the Information CheriS. I will deffinitely remember to use probiotics should my dragon ever need to be treated for parasites.

I don't recall seeing any at my local petstore but then again I wasn't looking for it. I did notice the other day they had some stuff much like Parazap..but a completely different brand..it is not approved by the FDA? (I think that's the correct acrynom) but is supposed to be all natural incrediants...probably a copy of parazap's product. I don't feel confident in it to actually use it and since my dragon is a healthy eater and has no parasites, don't see a need for it.

YOu are great to be willing to send that probiotic to anybody who asks, will check around and see if I can get it here in my area. If not then will let you know if I will ever need some.
