I bought a RES last Tuesday. I did not have a tank or anything for him the first night. I kept him in a container with water that wasn't treated. He ate one reptile stick that night and has only nibbled one piece of lettuce since then. I tried to feed him bananas with Vitamin A powder layered on it. I also bought two little feeder fish that I put in the tank for him to eat, he acts like he can't even see them. His eyes are shut and puffy more often then not and when he does open them it's not as wide as some of the turtles I have seen in pics on this site. The water is anywhere from 75-85 degrees. I'm sure he is sick, but he won't even eat to get/or feel better.

Sounds like you bought him already sick.
He needs a vet. This is almost always caused by poor nutrition and by the time the eyes close like that, they need proper medical care and a proper set up.
Good luck because this baby is going to need it.
