Nice Hog island Boa...

RioBravoReptiles Jun 18, 2006 08:33 AM

.. I know I've been missing in action here for a while, it's been a hectic Spring and I've also been squeezing in some travelling. Here's one of a litter of Hog island Boas that was waiting for me when I came home a week ago..
.

.
Looks like many people are getting nice babies, congratulations to all.

That caudal striping has been showing up in our litters since way back in the 80s. For a while I considered it almost a trademark of our breedings. I have seen it in other people's Hog island snakes as well, though with the number of these I've produced and sold over the years they may also be related.
.
It is a strong trait, but it has always been only a tail-stripe. Never anything up the body.

Thanks for your comments..
