Another shopping center.

I just saw the bulldoziers clearing the last large tract of land close to my house. It was approx 15 acres of gopher tortoise/Indigo habitat. I used to walk through and photograph animals there, doing my part to conserve by not collecting anything except brown anoles. What is amazing there is already a shopping center across the street. I guess we have to keep the Publix Winn-Dixie competition going. I had personally seen at least 5 large gopher tortoises and one or more Indigos. It might have been the same one as it was on different walks. Soon the only habitat will be in parks and wildlife refuges.
