REDDER IS BETTER

bcibydesign Jun 18, 2006 12:44 PM

I don't think anyone has ever scoffed at selective breeding, just at how every drime store boa can be called a pastel and how every hypo is now a pastel hypo regardless of origin.

I think that when the hypo trait is use it can improve almost any bloodline and vise-versa.

but to me what really counts is what the normals from a specific bloodline look like as babies as well as adults. when the hypo trait isn't showing or not used at all.

here is a picture of a nine year old F3 Harlequin female shortly after giving birth.

have a great fathers day.

The variability within a hypo litter really does it for me.
All of these are from the same litter. The color goes from very light to very bold. The aberrent saddles were a real bonus too.

Not a pretty pastel like yours, but showing some nice color after only 2 sheds.

Hope your fathers day was as good as mine.

Denny

bcibydesign Jun 18, 2006 08:59 PM

it has red on it's sides.
with such a broad generic decription and your pastel glasses on you got from jeff you can call it a pastel. jeff said you could. i guess you would consider this a pastel too, or maybe is't a pastel hypo.ROTFLMAO. my fathers day was great. glad yours was. later B

about those "Secret Pastel Glasses" Geez, now it's no longer a secret I guess, huh?

By definition, I'd say you have the "Ultimate Pastel" there even though I prefer my boas with longer, brighter tails. There is something about the contrast that appeals to me more!

I am glad that I was able to provide you with a little entertainment this evening, us dads got to stick together!!

Denny

bcibydesign Jun 19, 2006 07:18 AM

but if she is the ultimate pastel. then jeff should have a whole basement full.
have a great day Denny. it's been fun ribbing you and getting ribbed. later B

agree 100%.
It is nice to have "pastel" whatever....but the normals in these litters really tell the story....

Awesome example, and nice snakes.

of boas. One awesome snake after another. Do you have any potential mates for those first two?
