Dwarf Bitis

lewbaker Jun 18, 2006 02:43 PM

I know that Al currently keeps a couple species of dwarf bitis, but i was wondering who else keeps these, and are there any special techniques used to keep them?

Hi Lewis:

These are not beginner snakes (husbandry) they are very difficult to keep alive. They are fragile and not good travelers. I lost 3 feeding adults last year just in transporting them a few hundred miles. This year I put $2080 worth of babies in my freezer, so far. I have a nice collection of Dwarf Bitis but expect to loose 50% of what you get.

Al
