Well, I don't know if you all remember the controversial "cross breeding" of my Blacktails but the eggs are starting to hatch.....The male was the animal in question whether or not it was a pure blacktail. Lots of folks had their opinions and I was new to Dry's having been told that they were indeed BT's. The long anticipated arrival of the offspring from that breeding are starting to arrive......You tell me.....Blacktail or not? To me they are awesome regardless. I have since acquired a darker tailed male specimen(no question Black Tail) that will be breeding with the female next year, so the offspring may have even darker tails......By the way, a thank you to those folks for expressing their opinions with an open mind and not being rude and abrasive....also thanks for all the help from the Dry guys!!! It was most appreciated!
Here are some pics of the new hatchling. Unfortunately I lost a few eggs to splitting halfway into the incubation, I believe I had to much moisture in the medium. Also, there were three dead in egg. Hatching and pipping 103 days post-oviposition......at 76-78 degrees. If the rest hatch successfully I should have a 53%(8/15) hatch ratio which sucks..more pics to follow of the other pups .
Man these guys are huge at hatching and so dang cute too....
