Croaking

Herrigan Jun 18, 2006 06:01 PM

I have 6 different frog species: 2 golden treefrogs, one green treefrog, a narrow-mouthed frog, a White's treefrog, and a horned frog. The only one I've heard croad is the White's. I am wondering if frogs must reach a certain maturity before they begin croaking or if I just have 5 females and 1 male.

most frogs/toads usually start croaking (if they male) around 5-8 months of age, some mature sooner than others. i'm not sure how old your frogs are though, it could be possible you have only one male. i have 7 frogs and only two croak. and the ones that do are also whites.

Thanks so much for the info. I know my horned frog is around 8 months. I don't know about the others.
Nice pictures! Couldn't really tell what direction the White's was photographed from, but neat perspective!

thanks, the pic of the larger whites was when he was on the glass, the plant you see is actually outside of his cage.
